This combination of protection and breathability minimises the wind’s chilling effect while reducing the risk of overheating, even when doing strenuous work: in other words, the totally windproof, yet extremely breathable WINDSTOPPER® membrane by GORE-TEX LABS blocks the wind but allows sweat vapour to escape.
Although textiles such as microfibers, closely woven fabrics and many fleece materials are often said to be windproof, even light winds can penetrate most of these fabrics, making wearers feel chilled and uncomfortable. By Gore’s standards, a fabric can only be considered truly windproof if its air permeability is 1.0 cfm (< 5 l/m2/s) or less. It’s a standard that every WINDSTOPPER® garment by GORE-TEX LABS easily meets.

Description: Optimum fit, wind protection and enhanced freedom of movement all in one garment. The technology reduces the need to wear many layers of clothing. GORE® Stretch Technology can be tailored to specific areas of the garment, on places like the elbows, knees or back. The wearer is able to move with less effort and will feel less pressure on the skin, resulting in perceptibly enhanced comfort when compared with non-elastic garments.
Added benefits: Non-restrictive clothing is ideal for a range of different scenarios, such as resisting arrest, driving, reaching for equipment, or kneeling on the ground. The stretch and high recovery from the FR Stretch panels adapts to the use of additional layers or protective equipment such as ballistics vests.
