Since it offers the lowest resistance to the transfer of sweat vapour through it, the GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PARALLON® system offers the most breathable performance.

When laminated to a flame-resistant material, the technology has been proven to withstand high heat exposures and still deliver excellent breathability and reliable protective performance.

GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PARALLON® product technology is engineered for penetration resistance to pathogens found in blood and body fluids.

Lightweight and flexible, the technology offers consistent protection with high levels of comfort and freedom of movement.

The durably waterproof GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PARALLON® system resists liquids and water from entering from the outside.

The ultimate in thermal protection, with unparalleled breathability.

The GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PARALLON® system is a revolutionary solution that delivers high protection from radiant and convective heat and flame, even when gear gets wet. It features enhanced breathability, which addresses the physical strain of working in turnout gear, and keeps the wearer cooler for longer. These benefits are thanks to the highly breathable Gore thermal barrier combined with a GORE-TEX moisture barrier.

This unique technology enhances thermal protection by helping to address a significant issue: water. When water finds its way into the layers of conventional firefighting gear, it can change the gear’s thermal protection and wearers are at risk of steam burns and heat exhaustion as well as being weighed down by the water. The GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PARALLON® system reduces these risks for a broad range of conditions, creating consistent protection without compromising comfort or freedom of movement.

The system has been designed specifically to combat the risks associated with moisture and heat stress. This is a unique use of two membranes encapsulating a layer of thermal protection that maintains breathability while wicking moisture away from the skin and out through the suit. Internal moisture is efficiently moved through the layers, keeping the thermal protective fabric dry and reducing the risk of steam or wet compression burns. The system simultaneously prevents liquid penetration from the outside.

This configuration also manages the hazards of viruses and bacteria found in blood and body fluids as well as common chemicals – protecting the wearer reliably against these threats.

The technology raises the benchmark of turnout gear to new levels: firefighters no longer have to choose between comfort and protection.
