Robust, waterproof and breathable safety footwear must offer reliable protection in all working and weather conditions. While wearers were looking for increased lightweight and comfort in their safety footwear, they are often facing the dilemma that robust protection often came with the downside of more weight and less comfort. Now for the first time, the new three-layer EXTRAGUARD Upper technology is paving the way for the construction of a new generation of highly robust and lightweight safety footwear. an innovative solution. When dry , the EXTRAGUARD upper material is 40 % lighter than leather, and due to its low water absorption properties, it remains lightweight even in extremely wet and muddy conditions.
Tested for safety and certified in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2011 for protection level S2 and S3 safety footwear.
Offers protection against commonly occurring chemicals*, in accordance with ISO 13994/ASTM F 903, method C.
*Commonly occurring chemicals include AFFF Fire-fighting foam (3%), sulphuric acid H2SO4 (37%) diesel, and caustic soda NaOH (30%).
Gore Lab Tests:
- Gore static Water bucket test: Boots are submerged at a minimum/at least of 10 cm water level depending on boot style.
- Gore static Rain shower test: Boot is exposed to very heavy rain simulation.
- Gore Walking simulator test: Boots are submerged in 5 cm water and flexed 300,000 times.
